The Unsung Wonders of Interviews

            Life is full of inquiry, but it has the answers, too. Work hard and you’ll get it.

Most of us find it difficult and demanding to conduct an interview. It is really is. However, we are often amazed of how it plays a great impact in our lives with its wonders and benefits.

Make a difference. Some people may become more knowledgeable and skillful than us. We need some of them in order to understand the things that we need further understanding, but in the end, the fact and the truth lye within us. No matter what, our learning must not just be kept in a CD or in any document, or our experience from this activity will remain so. We must take this opportunity to learn more and use what we have learned for our lives.

            Strive! We almost gave up the interview from the very beginning. The consistent conflict of schedules never spares us. From the time we met and talked to her for permission, it seems that her mouth speaks nothing but hesitation. We understand the fact that hers is not an easy task- from the management of a big school, to the way she slices her time for her office and family. Thank God, my group had that so- called initiative and charm. We were able to convince her and another thing to be appreciated, she agreed with the schedule but refused to have a copy of the interview outline. Interviewer or interviewee must always be ready and prepared. The script and outline will never be your life- savers.

            Enjoy! Have fun while discovering new things. Education reform- it’s been the point of debates and review for several decades until it was finally approved and implemented. The only thing we can do now is to obey, respect, and be responsible with this reform. I just hope everybody would appreciate this change since the government has been very fruitful in taking risks and new horizons to bring back not just its good image, but the trust from its constituents, too. I love to see students having fun in the class while learning well. Mother tongue, perhaps, is the best idea of K-12. I just hope that it will encourage students to participate more in class discussions. I love the idea that students will gain more opportunities to hone their abilities and interests through their own choices- choice which will be the mere foundation of their future and will affect the prospects of the nation. Youth is really our hope.

            Tons of information, single, most important reflection. Sweat may be as irritating as the hardships we have encountered, but there’s always been the promise of satisfaction in every finale. Perfection can be set aside during interviews, because to discover new things while meeting new people is way beyond memorizing or whatever we call it. Now who says that you cannot do different things at the same time? Taking risks might be good. But ours proves that you can have a better outcome if you planned it well, while the talent in you will just appear in the field. We are not the best interviewers nor we have the best expert for our topic but the best thing to cherish is that everyone can be an expert, equipped with his own views and stand on an issue. We have different tasks and jobs. They say that you can be more intelligent by any means of educating, which is undeniably, one of our major tasks as DevCom practitioners.

            As I always say, this is just the start of our journey. There are more challenges and hardships to come. But then again, it would be better to appreciate the essences and importance of these things arlier for guidance so that we can do it better the next time around.
