The University of the Philippines- Los Baños, the distinguished center of academic excellence in agriculture, forestry, and related sciences in the country, in collaboration with different socio-civic and scientific research organizations, recently held the annual Syensaya 2013, also known as the Los Baños Science Festival.

The banner program of the Los Baños Science Community Foundation, Inc. Make a kiss for Makiling!

Reimagining Makiling’s Vast Resources: A Lush Expanse For Study and Survival

The best exposure of the event was perhaps, the one-and-only Makiling Forest Reserves, which, to this date, still continues to establish harmonious rapport and provide resources and wealth to the Los Baños community, including the university, in which it serves as a training field for research of students and academicians.

The versatile treasures and scope covers its evergreen forests, crystal-clear springs and water resources, indigenous flora and fauna found elsewhere in the country, and its magnificent land masses and forms that provide its inhabitants livelihood and needs.

Celebrating IT’s Role in Scientific Exhibits

With the proliferation of modern digital and information technology imposed by computers and gadgets, many students coming from various elementary and high schools within the Laguna area flocked the Copeland Gymnasium to witness this one-of-its-kind exhibit.

Pictures are uploaded right after their visit ranging from their facebook, instagram, and even blog accounts to share their experiences in the said exhibit.

Sponsors and organizers have been contacting each other through the use of social media to ensure the quality and success of the affair.

The use of 3-D pictures, frames, posters, and models also proliferate the exhibit. Booths offering computer and animation assistance were also present to cater students a glimpse of the many wonders of information technology.
