the Best of Los Baños
The University of the Philippines- Los Baños,
the distinguished center of academic excellence in agriculture, forestry, and
related sciences in the country, in collaboration with different socio-civic
and scientific research organizations, recently held the annual Syensaya 2013,
also known as the Los Baños Science Festival.

Community Foundation, Inc. (LBSCFI) in support of the annually held National Science and Technology Week, that is being being observed nationwide, Wonderama, the science discovery exhibit aims to showcase new technologies and milestones of the university as well as surrounding communities and organizations within the vicinity of the so-called "Special Nature and Science City of the Philippines."

Reimagining
Makiling’s Vast Resources: A Lush Expanse For Study and Survival
The best exposure of the event was perhaps, the
one-and-only Makiling Forest Reserves, which, to this date, still continues to
establish harmonious rapport and provide resources and wealth to the Los Baños
community, including the university, in which it serves as a training field for
research of students and academicians.
The versatile treasures and scope covers its
evergreen forests, crystal-clear springs and water resources, indigenous flora
and fauna found elsewhere in the country, and its magnificent land masses and
forms that provide its inhabitants livelihood and needs.

Celebrating IT’s Role in Scientific
Exhibits
With the proliferation of modern digital and
information technology imposed by computers and gadgets, many students coming
from various elementary and high schools within the Laguna area flocked the
Copeland Gymnasium to witness this one-of-its-kind exhibit.
Pictures are uploaded right after their visit
ranging from their facebook, instagram, and even blog accounts to share their
experiences in the said exhibit.
Sponsors and organizers have been contacting
each other through the use of social media to ensure the quality and success of
the affair.
The use of 3-D pictures, frames, posters, and
models also proliferate the exhibit. Booths offering computer and animation assistance
were also present to cater students a glimpse of the many wonders of information
technology.
