<3 Miss Philippines' Road to the Miss Universe Crown

Best Miss Venezuela Ever

SENSATIONAL IRENE ESER!

Image

I think she is somehow better than Dayana and Stefania. The only thing is that she stumbled in her answer.
D
Stefania Fernandez, Miss Universe 2009, from Venezuela.

Dayana Mendoza, Trump's Most favorite Miss Universe of all-time, also from Venezuela.

But over- all, she rocked Vegas, and she will remain as one of the most beautiful and well- remembered Miss Venezuela in Miss Universe's history. Ariba Venezuela!

The Best Answer in Miss Universe 2012 . . .

Who rocked the question- and- answer portion?
Miss Universe 2012 Olivia Culpo from USA., or her 1st Runner-Up, Janine Tugonon from the Philippines?
Which do you prefer?

After her serene and stellar performance in Binibini during the times of Shamcey,  Lucelle Felipe rejoice the stage and win one of the highly coveted crowns and become one of our official representatives to the international beauty pageants?

Will this beautiful tricycle driver join Binibini this year?

The Price of Truth

The Price of Truth
(Reflection Paper on DEVC11 Exer 1)
Kevin Carlo Abila, UV-4L

Writing is hard. Gathering the most recent data is harder. But interviewing the most reliable source is the hardest of them all.

It’s hard than what I really expected in a simple exercise. But in the end, I was satisfied and gratified enough to realize that it’s all worth it.

Gathering data requires a lot of effort and preparation. Most of us find it difficult to accomplish these things but there’s always been the assurance that we will really learn a lot as we explore the wonders of mass media.

For a communication student like us, everything went well in gathering data for several advantages- this is our work, and this is what we want to do in the first place. We are being honed in the combined aspects of media and communication for development step-by-step so as to fully develop these skills that are of major importance in our future works. I believe that as long as you are interested and willing to learn something, everything will go smooth. As long as you know how to use the limited time and pressure, you’ll end up a success story. Our activity is some sort of a simple exercise that will offer opportunity for us to be in the field, and as one of the basic foundations of our career. It’s hard though, but the feeling that you’re enjoying the fact that you are touching their lives while opening their eyes about the timely issues that concerns them, too, I couldn’t feel the sweat, the money, or how many people have we encountered anymore- the essence of hardships that are worth remembering.

I actually felt some struggles as what I believed that others have experienced, too, only to realize that this was just a simple or basic exercise in Devc11. There’s really more activities more challenging than this one! Precisely. What more if were actually sent into the major field where there’s no more preparation than what we do, no more companions, no more script, no more than enough time to plan? What fate awaits us in the future? I answered my own question. That’s why I am here preparing myself and should know my part from the beginning.

Information is everywhere, but then again, it is quite hard for us, as student journalists who have just started the journey, to deal with other people, most especially because not all are willing and emphatic enough to offer help by sharing what they stand before on a certain issue. There’s the consistent conflict of schedules, proximity of sources, availability of resources, and the different attitudes that we have and still be encountering, which will define our success.  No matter what, I am certain about the fact that these will be our passion for the rest of our lives- serve people, research, disseminate information, encounter different attitudes to bring change.

We cannot perfect every detail of our plan nor can we memorize everything in the script. We cannot change their views and disposition on things, but we can actually enlighten them to bring about change- something that encompasses the majority, especially the underserved populace that might probably benefit them and discover potentials in which, however, might take some effort and time before ending it up as a success story. And the best reason of all, these are our commitment and calling that we have answered.

Yearning To Make Noise

Yearning To Make Noise
Kevin Carlo Abila, UV- 3R

“You don’t move people when you don’t act.” Some of the most challenging parts for the citizen of the 21st century are on how they will cope and adapt to the fast- changing world, where the aftermath of extensive modernization and industrialization led us to many societal problems that continuously affect people, and on how to create new possibilities and hope for survival and sustainability of life. The problem, however, is not the societal problems, themselves. People should know how to use the knowledge, which gave birth to development, to come up with the long- term solutions to these societal problems. If not, at least, find out the root causes and start making unique and effective efforts to uproot them. The perplexing question, however, is on how to re- unite the population divided by race, religion, gender, and societal status, to further probe and construct new efforts that will be beneficial for everybody regardless of diversity. The peculiar benefit- they will be able to interact and communicate well with one another, launching them into close ties while exhibiting a sense of national unity and cooperation. This demands leadership and support. No one will succeed his desired goal without taking the first and somehow, the hardly- achieved step- to take the initiative to propose idea and ensure the accuracy and impact to the lives of the constituents.

Likewise, an idea will remain so if not enacted. In this case, we are asking for the cooperation of our people. If we achieved our goal, then we can now foretell our fate. It is profitless. You will invest time, power, and sweat, but the reward is more than just enough to call it priceless.

Being a development communicator, offered by such opportunities of using the powers and scope of media and communication to create sound and voice to the impoverished, unfortunates, and the unserved, we must be that courageous to make a difference and we must acquire the strength and optimism in dealing with different people in search of truth, fidelity, and change in the social order. We might not convince every people but to educate them with the must learn realities in the contemporary society is much better than if we haven’t done for humanity. We do our jobs neither because of fame nor because of money, but the devotion we give to our work lits the real essence of our efforts because there’s no better work than helping others.

“Good luck, God bless, ect.” Now, our desire to touch lives determines our credibility and passion we poured to our work. But above all, it is the people, whom we borrow our strength, which recognize and make our work possible. Our work is by far, the enfleshment of their experiences and hardships, and to alleviate them is our work. Forget about the price tag.J Just believe in our work and everything will go smooth. It is our way of serving and enlightening people so that they may stand as one in solving the barriers in life and establish a better habitat for survival and interaction- full of dreams, hope, and unity for a better future.

CONGRATULATIONS JANINE !

YOU MADE OUR THREE- PEAT HOPE POSSIBLE

CMSC 2 STUFFS

Part 1
1. False, since there are others that might be confusing for others and might not provide their needs.
2. True, since it will be more efficient and easy for the Chrome to provide your needs. No more hassle.     You'll save time and energy, wisely.
3.b.
4. 4.19 years :) I just simply copied the whole trivia and search for webs/ blogs that can provide me the necesssary information to answer it.
5. What time will the sun rise in Nice, France today? :)

Part 2:
1. DONE :)
2. Well, I believe that we must have the common sense in searching things in the internet, most especially in the Google Chrome. Since most are provided by Chrome, still, many are not offered and therefore, needs more world or phrases to provide basic information. That's why, most of us are getting confused while in fact it could have been better. So better be aware of what you are going to find so that Google Chrome or any other applications will not lead you to wrong places. :)
Well, perhaps the best feature of most of the applications, specifically the Google Chrome, is it's ability to offer and show everything in a certain topic or thing. It knows a thing or two than us. :D

Good Luck Our Queen!

Oh my God! Philippines!!! This is it. Janine Mari Tugonon will finally rock Vegas as she leave her country this day to compete for the highly- coveted title of being the most beautiful woman in the universe.
Despite criticisms right after she bagged the title as this year's Bb. Pilipinas, Janine is all set to fight with all her might to the upcoming Miss Universe beauty pageant to be held in Las Vegas, Nevada, USA, December 19th, which will be aired to us live by ABS- CBN via NBC.
She is very much pressured to follow and continue the streak of the Philippines in the Miss Universe pageant. In 2010, Maria Venus Raj ended up as 4th Runner up while Shamcey Supsup finished 3rd Runner up. Will she continue the reign of our country?
Meanwhile, the online voting is on- going. To vote for Miss Philippines, just log- on to www.missuniverse.com, find Miss Philippines profile and click "vote". Everyday, we can cast at least 10 votes PER valid e- mail address. The winner will secure a spot. So, vote, vote, and vote. Let us continue making milestones in the international arena!

Tugonon, a Cum Laude Pharmacy graduate of UST, lost to Shamcey Supsup when she first entered Binibini last year but reentered the pageant and was luckily crowned Bb. Pilipinas 2012, bagging the rights to compete in the prestigious Miss Universe pageant.
Angola's ,Leila Lopes, Miss Universe 2011, will crown her successor at the end of the event.
